We are following recommended Government and Health and Safety guidelines.

PLEASE take a moment to read through these guidelines completely.

  • If you are feeling sick or have been in contact with anyone who has been sick, let us know as we will reschedule your appointment as we will not be able to attend to your hair needs until you are fully recovered.
  • Please give us as much notice as possible if you are not feeling well and we will help you find another appointment decide you can’t make it in.
  • You will be greeted at the front door by our receptionist or a member of our staff from behind a safety plexi-glass screen.
  • You will be shown to your stylist’s assigned chair.
  • We will have a digital thermometer as you enter the salon at the reception in case you appear to have any fever or sickness so we can test you and can reschedule you before starting any salon treatments.
  • Sanitize your hands when you walk in. There will be hand sanitizer at the reception by the front door. and in all the bathrooms and around the salon.
  • Don’t bring extra bags or any personal effects into the salon.
  • You will not be able to bring in any dogs or pets into the salon for the foreseeable future. Please make those necessary arrangements.
  • Come alone. We are on a strict number limitation guideline and any extra people will put us over our limit. If you bring someone they will not be allowed to stay in the salon or wait in the reception waiting area. So, this also means your children, extra family members or friends.
  • Stylists will have face masks and disposable rubber gloves for you and the stylist if you require or feel safer wearing them.
  • If you are concerned about breathing contamination then we recommend that you bring and wear YOUR OWN . We have obtained masks for the salon and will have some spare if you don’t have one, but for your feeling of security you may prefer using your own.  (It should be a “loop mask” that goes behind your ears, not the kind that ties around your head… obviously!)
  • We provide clean and freshly washed gowns for each client but we also have ordered disposable plastic full cover capes to go over each client as well as using the freshly washed salon gown.
  • Credit card payments will be only payment method.  They will accepted behind a plexiglass protective reception screen. We will also have  6ft Social distancing stickers on the floor where you pay and before you enter the salon to give you comfort space.
  • We may have to restrict or stop blow drying finishing styling to minimize the risk of blowing air into other parts of the salon.
  • We will have to restrict conversations when you are having your hair washed or colour removed at the backwash to avoid any chance of air contamination between you and your stylist.
  • You know that we all at Avantgarde have always prided ourselves in giving a friendly luxury service. Many of the little things we like to do for you may be unavailable for us to provide at this time. While we are not positive on the official guidelines yet, this is what it may look like.
  • We will not be able to offer you coffee or tea drinks or any other refreshments.
  • We will not be able to leave the salon to feed your parking meter if it expires. Please park in one of the three local car parks so you will not be concerned about your car meter timing.
  • We will not have magazines available for you to read.
  • Because of these changes, your appointment may not feel like what you’re normally accustomed to, but know we will return to The Avantgarde Service Way as soon as possible with your help and patience.

Avantgarde has always taken pride in the health and safety of our clients and our team extremely seriously. We will try to make you feel as comfortable and safe as we possibly can.
